Article: Roath's Story

Roath Pov is a Cambodian immigrant. His journey began 35 years ago when he was born in a refugee camp in Thailand. His family were victims of the notoriously murderous Khmer Rouge regime which ruled over Cambodia until it was overthrown by the Vietnamese occupation in 1979. Up to that point, the journey had not been an easy one for Roath and his family. Their life was going to change drastically when Canada opened its doors to his family as landed immigrants. From times of extreme poverty, when making it to the next day was uncertain, to sharing the life he lives now with his family in Winnipeg, Canada. “Never goes a day that I am not thankful for it, and grateful for my parents who courageously sought out a better life for themselves and their children”
